Services are available to all victims and their family and friends. Victims of Violence services are here to help, no matter when the assault occurred or whether you wish to report it to the police. We serve victims regardless of sex, age, race, ethnic background, income level, disability, or sexual orientation.

Emergency Housing Assistance for Survivors
For victims of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual) or rape/sexual assault who need immediate safety. Accessible through the 24 hour hotline @ and 1-855-9-NOWSAFE/1-855-966-9723 (Madison and Chenango Counties).
Short-term Crisis Counseling and Therapy
Make an appointment with a Victims’ Advocate through the 24 hour hotline. Advocates will offer support, define options, and provide appropriate referrals.
Short-term therapy for survivors and their families for trauma issues related to domestic violence or sexual assault is available. Services are free and confidential. Contact the hotline for more information and to make an appointment. Foreign language and American Sign Language interpretation for therapy sessions is available with advance notice.
Approved Rape Crisis Provider for Madison County
Specific services are available to survivors of sexual assault by contacting the hotline.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Project
Beginning in 2017 when the project launches, SANE adult services will be available. SANE services provide a specific SANE-trained nurse to assist with exams and collection of evidence from rape survivors. Check back here for more information soon.
Support, Accompaniment and Advocacy with Legal/Medical Proceedings
Advocates will meet rape/sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking victims at area hospitals or police agencies to provide crisis intervention and systems’ assistance. Information for domestic violence and rape/sexual assault victims regarding basic legal information, victims’ rights and referrals for legal advice. Assistance with writing Orders of Protection, Child Custody, and other petitions for Family Court on an emergency and non-emergency basis.
"Empowered" is a support group for survivors of domestic violence or for individuals still in a domestic violence relationship. The group provides participants with a healthy and safe environment to build a support network with other survivors and to explore their journey towards healing.
Domestic Violence Education Group is a six session program that addresses the dynamics of domestic violence.
Community Education and Professional Training
Liberty Resources' Help Recover Hope Center offers training and presentations to community groups, schools, professionals and others on a wide variety of related issues, including: Talking about Touching Program (for elementary students), healthy relationships, Domestic Violence 101, Intimate Partner Violence and Pregnancy, and other topics.
